To my surprise, the application to both lower extremities provided immediate improvement in stair climbing. Yes, immediately. I was suspicious of some biomechanical trick. I subsequently learned I could ascend 2 flight of stairs somewhat hesitantly, heretofore not possible. Descending steps was better, but I still lacked confidence.
I then tested on stationary bicycle. I normally do 25 minutes at minimal resistance setting of 2. I do not want to load the arthritic knee. With the Dynamic Total Knee on, I found the #2 setting too easy. I cautiously elevated to #3 and did the 25-minute routine. It was minimally more resistant than #2, but did not hurt. My heart rate before climbed from 60 the 70’s. This time it when into the mid 80’s and caused perspiration not observed before. There was no subsequent knee pain or swelling.
Video-taping provided documentation of my gait. First was barefoot, then barefoot with DTK sleeve on both thighs which showed improvement. Finally, DTK with my shoes with wedged insoles. Amazing video evidence of improved dynamics of my gait; no lessons and no surgery. Way better symptomatically and dynamically.

There are thousands of ankle injuries every day. Posture Restoration Therapist, Airrosti Therapist, Trigger Point Therapist, Physical Therapist, Athletic Trainers, are some of the medical professionals that will help in the rehab of your ankles.
Some of these professionals will ask that you come to their clinic, training room, some will care for you in your home. We suggest you compliment these professionals skills by wearing Pro Taco Ankle for the general population, and T:25 Ankles for athletes.
The professionals can help restore your range or motion and balance, wearing Pro Taco or T:25 Ankles activates the muscles the Lord gave us to stabilize / protect your ankle from recurrent injury.
Transition back into activity or sport wearing these products and continue to wear them for the next 4 to 6 months, your ankles will get and stay healthy.
Answer:
You can not heal a torn ACL. The ACL serves two key roles in the function of the knee. It has sensors that communicate with the muscles that stabilize the knee, to protect all tissue in the knee. The ACL and PCL are attached to the tibia/femur (in an X configuration) to stabilize the knee.
Research tells us that if an ACL is not reconstructed in an active individual there is a greater risk of tearing or wearing out the other ligaments, cartilage, meniscus in the same knee.
Another concern is the healthy knee. That leg will experience a lot more responsibility (load) for this individual's movement the rest of their life, often causing physical issues in that limb, even malalignment of the entire body.
If the ACL is not reconstructed both legs will become traumatized.
If you choose to avoid surgery our biomechanist suggests you wear T:25 Knees to reactivate/train the key muscles that have shut down immediately after the injury occurred. T:25 Knees are the "New Norm in Knee Rehab" ! research at Topical Gear Performance Wearables | Performance and Injury Prevention

The Breg Inc has a cold therapy unit that circulates cold water through a pad that is specifically designed to fit/attach to your knee. Set the temperature that is comfortable for you. Patients who have significant pain post-injury/post-op may want to use cold therapy for many weeks, then store it in the closet for another family member to use when injured. Make sure to drain the water from the pad once you store it.
Continues Passive Motion machines (CPM units) can also be used to keep the swelling in the knee minimal. Once the patient is attached to the unit, in a prone position, the machine moves the knee into flexion and extension for a given period of time over many days. This machine will also assist in gaining a range of motion.

I have spent time with numerous health care professionals that do a great job of addressing knee pain with their hands.
Trigger Point Therapy, Airrosti, Egoscue Method, Postural Respiration Therapist, Physical Therapist, and Athletic Trainers all offer very beneficial forms of treatment that will relieve pain and restore movement.
You could expect to see these professionals a couple hours a week. These treatments are so good that it may only take 2 - 3 weeks for you to start seeing and feeling results.
Our suggestion would be to train the specific muscles that stabilize your injured joint in Topical Gear T:25 technology in between these treatments. Once treatments are done continue to train KEY MUSCLES in Topical Gear products for another 7 to 9 months.
Continuing to train the key muscles that stabilize your body will allow you to remain active. And remember, you must remain active to maintain your functional movement!

Staying active is always recommended by health organizations. Activity leads to a happier, healthier, longer life. We all understand this but some times this advice is hard to follow after an ankle injury. Which leads us to a question often ask can you workout on a sprained ankle?
There are over one million ankle injuries each year and approximately 85% of these injuries are ankle sprains.
]]>There are over one million ankle injuries each year and approximately 85% of these injuries are ankle sprains.
The following suggestions focus on lateral ankle sprains, which are some 80% of all ankle injuries in the USA. Athletes experience 85% of the ankle injuries.
When ankle sprains occur the public often go to the emergency room for initial care. Once the public schedules an appointment for evaluation and rehab by a Podiatrist, Orthopedic Surgeon, DO, Family Practice Phy, Physical Therapist, or Athletic Trainer, recovery begins. Athletes participating in organized sports have an Athletic Trainer or Team Physician to care for them post injury.
Minor ankle sprains will have some pain and minimal swelling. Serious ankle sprains experience more pain and swelling. When a ligament or ligaments are torn, you will feel significant pain and swelling, with discoloration on the outside of your foot.
The athlete or public often follow the RICE treatment. Rest, ice, compression, elevation. Today there is a lot of discussion about using ice post-injury. We suggest continues circulating cold therapy units to be used for weeks until pain, swelling, and rehab are completed.
Keep the swelling out from under the ankle bone and you will rehab faster.
Athletic Trainers often place a 4" long piece of foam shaped like a horseshoe, under the bottom half of the ankle bone, held in place with an ACE wrap or ankle compression wrap. This will allow you to return to activity much faster..
Once weight bearing we suggest Pro Taco ankle for the public and T:25 Ankle for the athlete. These products activate/train the muscles that stabilize the foot/ankle to reduce risk of recurrent injury allowing you to return to activity faster. Consider Pro Taco ankle and T:25 Ankle as PT "To Go" ! These products will provide some 150 hours of rehab.
For minor to moderate ankle sprains, most people can start working out on their sprained ankle after a few days of proper care. If you have torn lateral ligaments listen to your medical professionals advice before working out again.Remember to wear Pro Taco or T:25 Ankle to help you become active again fast!
Pro Taco Ankle or T:25 ANKLE

]]>Kent’s left ankle was chronically unstable, due to repeated ligament tears while playing collegiate and professional tennis for years. During Kent career he wore Nearly every iteration of ankle brace on the market. All of these products, in his opinion, are essentially surrogates for taping, which offer the convenience of application/removal and reduced cost of taping athletes. The brace designs were basic figure 8 with a heel lock or a more sophisticated AFO variant. Kent was constantly looking for a brace that was comfortable, provided stability for his ankles, while allowing for full range of motion.
Topical Gear founder Bill Bue introduced Kent to Pro Taco Ankle.
The very first thing Kent said he noticed about the Pro Taco product was that it was comfortable, like an athletic sock. Within minutes, he didn't even remember that he mhad it on. Every other product that he has, restricts any normal inversion-eversion ROM, and affects his gait slightly. this restriction was the most troubling when limiting his weight shift while swinging a golf club, hindering performance.on the golf course.
Here are some of Kent`s words:
“ Pro Taco Ankle is something different. It allows me to move, and shift my weight normally, but activates my proprioceptive responses as soon as I get up to that critical point where inversion seems un-avoidable. Here is how I know. Last weekend I was working on a ladder, doing some painting at my home. I was wearing the Taco. Upon coming down from the ladder, I did the classic plantarflex, weight on the lateral side at the toes, and just as I was about to tip and roll, everything fired. No drama, no rolling around on the ground swearing and holding my ankle, etc. For a set of 50-year-old ankles, that have a lot of hard miles on them, ruptured talo-fib, calcaneo-fib, and medial gastroc, that piece of equipment really showed me something! If it can do that for me, it will certainly help a tremendous number of younger athletes out there. Wish I would have had it 30 years ago.”
About Pro Taco Ankle
The Pro Taco is designed to TRAIN SPECIFIC MUSCLES that keep the ankles stable at work when walking, or during activity. The Pro Taco will provide 6 months of ankle Rehab/ stability that fits an active lifestyle post-injury, post-op.

Let`s start with the compression products. They create better blood flow which benefits patients with poor circulation. Compression products disperse lactic acid after extensive workouts which benefit athletes during recovery.
The Topical Gear T:25 technology is a compression sleeve with foam buttresses that activate/train specific muscles to help patients Rehab post-injury, post-op.
We commonly say that T:25 technology is the next generation of compression. People who know and have already worn compression are all excited when they try on the T:25.
Topical Gear’s initial focus was helping athletes, but what we recognize is that our products are really beneficial for Boomers and Seniors when their stability and independence become an issue. With age, the key muscles that control our movement go on Vacation. Until now a cane or walker were the only options for most of the 50 + around the world! Now they can wear T:25 Knees to regain stability and independence for many years, by purchasing a 2nd-3rd-4th set of T:25 Knees!
